APBA Members Ethics Chat Terms of Service and Agreement

The Association of Professional Behavior Analysts (APBA) Ethics Chat events and all related content is subject to these Terms of Service. By submitting a question or attending an APBA Ethics Chat event, you agree to these Terms of Service in their entirety. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, you should not submit a question or attend the event. Accordingly, you agree to each of the following:

  • Panelists and APBA staff cannot provide legal advice or guidance to you and nothing they say or write may be taken as such. In addition, panelists and APBA staff cannot provide you with specific business or ethics advice, and nothing they say or write should be taken as such. If you require legal or business advice, you should consult with an appropriate attorney.
  • Panelists and APBA staff will provide their opinions and discuss their analysis of de-identified ethics questions or scenarios. Panelists and APBA staff will treat all questions and scenarios as hypothetical and can only respond to the information provided in the question.
  • Panelists and APBA staff’s comments should be taken as educational information only. Attendees should not rely solely on the ideas and opinions expressed, rather they may consider integrating the ideas and opinions into their own thorough analysis of any ethics situation.
  • The opinions and ideas expressed by panelists and APBA staff do not, in any way, reflect the opinions of APBA, panelists employers, or any organizations with which the panelists or APBA staff are affiliated (e.g., the BACB®, ABAI, state professional membership organization, licensure boards).
  • Attendees are solely responsible for maintaining all obligations related to privacy and confidentiality and should be careful to present questions and scenarios in a way that removes all identifying information (e.g., names, gender/pronouns, specific geographic location, company names).
  • Attendees should not reference the APBA Members Ethics Chat event or panelists or APBA staff by name in any official communication regarding complaints or disciplinary actions with organizations such as, but not limited to, the BACB, licensure boards, payor organizations, employers, or universities.
  • Imitation of Liability: Attendees of APBA Ethics Chat events agree to indemnify and hold harmless, to the fullest extent allowed by law, APBA, APBA staff, and any panelists from and against all claims, demands, liability, actions, or damages in any way arising out of or resulting from discussions had or information shared during the event.
